Welcome to Beeston Athletic Club (formerly Siemens AC) Nottingham - updated 18/05/2012

Welcome to the Beeston Athletics Club, we are a small but popular club that keeps in the running disciplines; Road, Cross Country and Fells.

The purpose of this site is to encourage new members competitively or socially.

We meet for club runs each Wednesday & Friday evening, and also on a Sunday morning. Sessions carry on all years round and there are normally people who want to do a shorter route for one reason or another. Some of the runners gradute and train with the Fast Lads on a Tuesday evening. We send weekly updates via email to indicate who's running and what races are occuring.

Running as a group we always keep together, John is prepared to run and assist with new or slower members, we encourage faster people to run up front and loop back at turning points

Wednesdays 18:30 we aim for 1hrs of running (approx. 6-8 miles), starting from Chilwell Olympia (NG9 5HR) in the Foyer (we have full use of changing rooms and showers) and follow various routes using Attenborough Nature Reserve, the River Trent and surrounding area trying to keep of major roads. Afterwards in The Victoria Hotel, Beeston in the RR on the R.

Fridays also at 18:30 from Chilwell Olympia, we aim for 45m of running (approx. 4-6 miles).

Sundays 09:00 from Stanton Gate by the few houses at the end of Moorbridge Lane, Stapleford. We enjoy the rolling countryside around Stanton by Dale and last approx. 1h30m.

We also participate in 2 Half Marathons or equivalent abroad each year. The TRENT 5 is a race we hold in June.

Feel free to have a look around our site and contact us with any questions or comments on the contact page.

Hi everyone, The first race of the 2012 Summer League series will take place at Epperstone on Wednesday 11 April 2012 start 7-15pm, start and finish is again at the side of the village cricket ground with changing and toilets. This is the first race on the Beeston AC calendar. It is free to enter but club vests but be worn. It is now a Notts AAA rule that personal headsets cannot be used as runners cannot hear instructions from marshals. Two days after this on Friday 13th April is the Broxtowe 5K at Bramcote Park. Although this is not on the Beeston AC calendar it is a relatively flat 5K for those wanting a well organised race. If this does not fit in to your fitness schedule, a few of us are helping to marshal the event and you are welcome to join us. Finally, the Mansfield Half Marathon has been cancelled this year so another race will be added to the calendar to replace. all the best, Mark.
