Welcome to Beeston Athletic Club Nottingham - updated 29th December 2017

Would you like to try out running with a local, friendly running club? Beeston AC (formerly Siemens AC) is a growing club (currently numbering over 120), whose members participate in road, cross-country and fell running. As well as running together, we like to socialise together. The Club runs three times a week and has full use of the changing rooms and showers at Chilwell Olympia:

Running as a group we always keep together, John and others are prepared to run and assist with new or slower members and faster runners will run up front and loop back at turning points

Wednesdays: meet 6.25 pm in the foyer at Chilwell Olympia (Byepass Road, Chilwell, NG9 5HR) for 6.30 pm depart prompt for 5, 7 or 9 miles (approximately 1 hour 20 minutes of running). Meet afterwards in the Victoria Hotel (RR on the R), Dovecote Lane, Beeston.

Fridays: meet 6.25 pm in the foyer at Chilwell Olympia, 6.30 pm depart prompt for 5 – 7 miles (approximately 1 hour of running). Meet afterwards in The Crown Inn, Church Street, Beeston.

The Beeston Park run is on every Saturday, this is a 5k distance, And it starts at 09:00hrs from the weir field Beeston Rylands, NG9 1LZ. please register first and bring barcodes with you. www.parkrun.org.uk

Sundays: for runners looking for a longer run, we also meet on at Stanton Gate (by a few houses) at the end of Moorbridge Lane, Stapleford (DE7 4QS) at 9.00 am. We enjoy the rolling countryside around Stanton by Dale and run over tow paths, roads, trails and fields for around 7 – 10 miles, for about 1 hour 30 minutes.

We also arrange trips to 2 Half Marathons or equivalent abroad each year.

In addition, we organise our own popular race, the TRENT 5, once a year (the new Beeston parkrun route shares part of the course for this).

Feel free to have a look around our site and contact us with any questions or comments on the contact page.

Email from John O'Donnell - 07/04/2016 ref. Weekly Email - Trent Lock

Well what can I say about the Trent Lock Challenge (handicap)guessing your own finishing time. Start off with a huge success, 31 members taking part, battling high Winds on the way out and being blown home, at least the rain kept off so The top half was dry even if the feet got wet. First back for the Ladies Catherine Wilson 78:06, First back for the men George Russell 68:45 And the winner of the 2016 Trent Lock Challenge Chris Bexton. Who put her own finishing time down as 83:57 actually finished in 83:58, 1s out. Well done Chris, And well done to everybody who raced, there was a lot of personal battles out there, What doesn’t break you makes you tougher. Not forgetting the guy who bought it back into play Simon Elliott, great job mate. And all the guys an girls that helped, Dick, Louise, Tony, Julie, Phil, Amanda, Pep, Pat and all the rest. Thanks to Beeston Marina for food and drinks. Results and pictures on our facebook group page.
